Our Whole Lives Training Event

A retreat designed to training leaders for the Our Whole Lives Human Sexuality Curriculum

The success of most events is based largely on the abilities and attitudes of the leadership.  It is the leaders who help set the tone for the event, nurture community, and keep the event activities appropriate and on topic.  

Our Whole Lives the UCC faith-based sexuality curriculum depends heavily on carefully-trained, responsible, mature adults who are committed to creating a safe, appropriate setting and facilitating appropriate conversation around this important subject.  This three-day event is designed to train facilitators who will, upon successful completion of this event, be prepared to implement a Our Whole Lives program in the local church setting.  

The Our Whole Lives program requires that two facilitators – one female and one male – are involved in every event with youth, so we recommend that leadership teams sign up for this event.  

This training is an opportunity not only to learn about the program and how to lead it, but also to see how comfortable you are as an Our Whole Lives leader. This workshop offers us a time to be open and honest about our comfort and abilities in facilitating sexuality education in the best possible way.

To make the most of our time together, we encourage you to become familiar with the contents of Our Whole Lives, Sexuality and Our Faith, and the Advocacy Manual. Please bring them with you.
