We invite you to join with
other families who understand your story for the very first Autism
spectrum Family Camp at Moon Beach. Come, be in community and network
with other families who support one or more children on the autism
spectrum (age and functioning level are irrelevant). For the past four
years Moon Beach has hosted Camp AweSum, a youth camp for 8-15 year olds
on the autism spectrum.
This opportunity has
provided the Moon Beach community a familiarity with persons on the
autism spectrum, such that we now wish to extend our hospitality to your
families via a dedicated Autism Spectrum family camp. This is an
extraordinary opportunity for families to relax and rejuvenate in an
idyllic Northwoods setting while enjoying the understanding and support
provided by other families and by an organization and staff that embrace
differences. You’ll have opportunities to share tales and laugh about
things only families such as yours could know and understand! Skilled
personnel will be on-site and available to assist with sensory,
communication, and/or behavioral support as needed.
The Autism Spectrum Family
Camp promises to return you to reality only after your family has soaked
up a week’s worth of rest and relaxation. You can:
■
enjoy meals
made for you and served up family style in the comfort of the dining room
■
know that your
child/children are happy; supported and understood by a community larger
than your own family
■
experience the
joy in watching your child fall asleep early and sleep through the night
because his/her day has been so full and so fun
■
…and much,
much more!
Come experience the
hospitality and acceptance of our staff with other families. Share a
week in a community like no other for this exceptional opportunity in
the unique Northwoods of Wisconsin.
This event will be facilitated by Glenis
Benson, an independent professional autism spectrum consultant in
Madison. You can read more about Dr Benson at
