A Shawl Ministry Retreat
For centuries shawls have embraced, warmed, and hugged —-
like God’s inclusive, unconditional love. Shawls are made with love and given
in times of pain, mourning, and celebration. Shawls provide a shelter, warmth,
and an embrace — truly a gift from the heart.
This weekend will provide a comfortable space, uninterrupted time, and the
warmth of a community with similar interests to nurture your creativity. We’ll
provide time and encouragement for you at begin creating a shawl for someone in
your life that needs the warm embrace of a shawl. A shawl is a welcome gift —
to a new mother, a friend in pain, or to reaffirm a friendship.
We’ll set aside worshipful time to share and reflect, using fiber arts as
guides to spiritual discovery. Lead by Rev. Jennifer Dawson, pastor and knitter,
and Lisa Bunke, skilled knitter, this weekend will be one of warmth, caring, and
creativity!
