Youth Camp

Camp AweSum Youth Camp

Camp AweSum Youth Camp is held at Daycholah Center (previously Pilgrim Center) found on the shores of Green Lake near Ripon, Wisconsin. Camp AweSum Youth is for campers ages 9-15. It will look a little different because of the location change. Campers will continue to be supported in a respect-based manner by counselors and staff.

Youth Camp welcomes 9–15-year-old youth (as of June 1, 2022) for a fun-filled week of camp. Camp AweSum Youth Camp is a residential summer camp for children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum conditions. All camper applications will be reviewed licensed professionals with experience serving autistic individuals to determine if they meet the criteria to be successful in this camping environment. Campers must do well with a 4 to 1 ratio of campers to counselors. They must be independent, or need minimal assistance, for all ADLs.

Camp AweSum provides an opportunity for campers to gain confidence being away from home, create lifelong friendship, develop new skills, and experience summer camp with their peers.

To support your camper, we have counselors that are licensed teachers, paraprofessionals with experience in autism, undergraduate and graduate students, and parents of children on the autism spectrum. Staff also includes an RN and an occupational therapist. All staff will pass a background and reference check as well as receive training specifically designed for Camp AweSum.

Registration opens on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at 9:09am!
