Summer Staff Fellowship Positions

Two Summer Staff Fellowship Positions Available at Daycholah Center

Daycholah Center is thrilled to announce the availability of two fellowship positions funded by the Outdoor Ministries Association-UCC in collaboration with the United Church of Christ (UCC) Global H.O.P.E. Volunteer Ministries. These prestigious Partners in Service grants will support the on-site presence of young adults at our campsite and foster mentorship, leadership, connection, and growth among fellows nationwide.

This summer, Camp Daycholah (summer camp programming) will host two staff positions from mid-June to the first week in August. The fellowships offer paid positions, weekly mentoring, and connections with fellows from other UCC sites across the United States. Room and board at Daycholah Center are included as part of the fellowship package.

Fellowship Positions at Camp Daycholah:

1. Camp Chaplain:

The Camp Chaplain will lead worship and nurture the spiritual life of the camp community through daily vespers and integration of spiritual practices into camp routines. Responsibilities also include implementing and supplementing the spirituality curriculum with a peace-making focus for 2024, offering pastoral care for staff and guests, and promoting peace and justice awareness around local issues relevant to Daycholah Center’s context.

2. Camp Community and Belonging Facilitator:

This role involves creating transformative dialogue and experiential encounters to build community, foster belonging, and develop peacemaking skills among campers of all ages. The facilitator will revitalize all-camp games, community initiatives, and cabin life routines to encourage asset-building, communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution in fun and creative ways.

Who Should Apply for a Fellowship?

We encourage young adults with foundational people and leadership skills, a vision for a peaceful and just world, and a love for people and God to apply. Ideal candidates will be committed to collaboration, intentionality, growth, and fostering community and faith formation. These positions offer an immersive opportunity to develop facilitation and ministerial leadership skills with individuals aged 4-adult in an inclusive and spiritually minded outdoor camp setting.
