Welcome to Cedar Valley!

Cedar Valley is 100 acres of pastoral beauty nestled in the heart of Washington County, just a short drive north of the metro Milwaukee area. Your creative spirit will soar while in the studio, walking the beautiful trails, or enjoying a sunset. There are abundant indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities. You can attend an art class, enjoy thoughtfully sourced and prepared meals, and simply relax.

Art classes and workshops are offered year-round in many different mediums like watercolor, alcohol inks, journal making, enamel, stained glass, Plein Air, and much more! The instructors are accomplished artists themselves and classes are small offering individual attention. No previous experience or skill level is required–just come and create!

Cedar Valley is a multi-faceted retreat center located in southeast Wisconsin. The property is 100 acres of natural beauty with hiking trails, multiple gardens, a pond, rolling hills, and panoramic views. The buildings include the main lodge, an art studio, a historic log house, a barn, and the iconic Spirit Chapel.

Cedar Valley is recognized as being a place to relax and sink into creative endeavors while making connections to those with similar interests. Year-round, a variety of art classes and workshops are offered for public participation. The classes are led by experienced and accessible instructors and are geared towards exploration and fun. Beginning and experienced artists will equally feel inspired and challenged.

For retreats and business gatherings, Cedar Valley offers many spaces and amenities to welcome your group. The gathering spaces, accommodations for lodging, and warm hospitality of Cedar Valley can be tailored to fit the needs and size of your group, and our team of professionals is eager to work with you to plan your event.

Weekend art classes and workshops at Cedar Valley are offered in a variety of mediums and led by instructors who are experienced and have a passion for students to discover their own creativity. Many are professionals working and teaching in their discipline.

There are abundant choices in the painting category: watercolor, alcohol inks, oils, Plein air, and more. For three-dimensional fun, try artisan soap-making, cookie bouquets, mosaics, enamel, stained glass, and memory journals. Beginners, experienced artists, and anyone who wants to spend time devoted to creativity are welcome!

There are day classes and weekend workshops. Guests have the choice of commuting or staying overnight for sessions lasting more than one day. Explore the schedule and join us!

Guests wishing to create a personal or family getaway may reserve the Hundred-Acre Haven apartment or the historic log house.

The heart of Cedar Valley facilities is the main lodge. The lodge is home to guest rooms, the dining room, meeting rooms and gathering spaces, the assembly chapel, the gift shop, and offices. A short walk away is the Open Wings Art Studio and the iconic Spirit Chapel. The log home and barn are situated near the entrance.
