Cedar Valley Grounds
As you pull into the driveway at Cedar Valley, a sense of wonder and peace will ease into your body. Wide-open skies, native prairie fields, rolling hills, and yes, cedar trees create a beautiful panorama.
Near the art studio, you will find a pond and a large willow tree. There is a Medicine Wheel garden and a Zen garden. Behind the main lodge are the fire circle, memorial benches, blooming trees, and our slightly famous bird feeders.
As you explore the property on a walk, discover the labyrinth, pond, and the signs of the Indigenous peoples who first called this sacred place home.
Each season at Cedar Valley will delight your senses–from spring songbirds and frogs, to the full bloom of summer, the blazing glory of autumn, and the hush of winter under a bright night sky.
Day visitors are welcome on weekdays. Please call ahead and check in at the Main Lodge. Guests may enjoy the trails, gardens, and grounds. In the winter, when conditions allow, Cedar Valley has snowshoes available.
Cedar Valley Facilities
The hub of Cedar Valley is the Main Lodge. Here you will find the guest rooms, three spacious conference rooms, the dining room, two libraries, and several sitting areas to relax. The spaces are comfortable and welcoming and offer beautiful views of the grounds.
The Open Wings Art Studio provides flexible space for creative workshops and classes. Large windows bring in plenty of natural light, and the building includes restroom facilities.
Take a short walk up the path on the east side of the lodge and discover Spirit Chapel. This iconic feature is designed to honor the Indigenous people who first stewarded this land. The interior has seating for those wishing quiet time to pray and meditate. Guests are encouraged to leave their prayer requests for the community to pray along with them. Spirit Chapel is at a high point of the grounds and offers incredible panoramic views and a great spot to watch sunrises and sunsets.
