Having recently retired I was looking for something fun to do in my spare time when I came across a YouTube video about Mandala Dot Painting. I’ve got an art background with drawing, painting, ceramics but my favorite medium was hair! I’ve been a hairstylist and nail polish wrap specialist for many years. My love of movement, shape, balance and color really translated to this art form.
Mandala means circle and doing the mandala dot painting brings me back to my earlier art experience. I start with an idea but the process takes on a life of its own and sometimes the finished piece looks nothing like what I had in mind! I get some of my inspiration during meditation and I find this art very relaxing to do. I hope you love my work as much as I love creating it!
If you are wondering about the chick in my logo, I am female but I also have had backyard chickens for years and just love the simplicity of chicks.
